Cri de Coeur – Vegan Footwear Worth “Crying” About

While the name Cri De Coeur translates in French to “cry from the heart,” we don’t encourage you weep out loud with sadness over this shoe brand, but rather with joy. At least that’s what happened to us when we realized someone had finally created some gorgeous of-the-moment shoes of every kind we’d been dreaming of owning – from over the knee boots to leopard print wedges – with entirely vegan materials. That’s right – no leather, fur, or plastic-y nonsense, all natural and sustainable materials and wholehearted contemporary style.

Founded by Gina Ferraraccio in 2007 and joined soon after by Parsons New School of Design classmate Julie Dicterow in 2009, Cri de Coeur was created “in the hopes of making a difference in the world for both the style-conscious and the animals.” Since then, the two New York City gals have not only expanded upon their line season after season with more great designs, but have also launched a diffusion line this spring, Hearts of Darkness, for the budget friendly vegan consumer that features all the same great Cri de Coeur aesthetic, but made available to an even wider mainstream audience.

We dare you not to fall in love with the shoes from both lines. Ladies, gird your wallets! Or just keep expanding your holiday wishlist…
